About The Yogini

Shikha (@shik.yog) grew a love for yoga from her grandparents and deepened her practice and study after college. She completed a YTT at Yoga on Main in Manayunk, PA and a Restorative Yoga training with Karen Safire. After moving to New York, Shikha also trained and volunteered with Exhale to Inhale to teach trauma sensitive yoga. She teaches a hatha, slow flow style focusing on breathwork, core engagement, and form. She incorporates restorative yoga poses using little to no props to support deeper relaxation and release. Shikha now offers yoga and breathwork virtually over Zoom and in limited in-person sessions in NYC.

Shikha Pursnani developed a love for yoga from her grandparents but deepened her practice after college when she began exploring her relationship with self and the greater universe. Off the mat, Shikha is an attorney (pending admission in New York). During law school, she worked as a legal ethics professional and pursued her passion for social justice and economic empowerment. She strives to bring mindfulness and stress management to the practice of law and to cultivate a community of mindful professionals.

Cosmic

Vinyasa Flow

Cosmic Deep Flow is based on my personal practice consisting of mindful breathing and conscious core engagement. After setting an intention inspired by the stars, we explore hatha yoga poses in a meditative vinyasa flow. You will sweat and feel the burn while jamming to some desert and jungle deep house beats. We finish with a restorative final resting pose to cement your practice and express gratitude for our bodies.

**No yoga experience required, but there are a lot of planks.**

Cosmic

restorative yoga

Cosmic Restorative Yoga is designed for the workaholic, the determined dreamchaser, and the mindful maverick. Over 80 minutes, we explore the cosmos through our own minds and bodies. Similar to the creative process, it all starts with a spark, an idea - our intention. Using this intention to inspire us to action, we put in the work in a vigorous sequence of hatha poses. But we work smart, not hard. Closing our journey together, about half of our practice focuses on reflection and restoration as we slowly move into gentle, comforting poses.

Private one on one sessions are really the way to go, especially for beginners. With private instruction, you get the full benefit of the practice with each pose customized to your body.

Depending on your reasons for exploring yoga with me, we can utilize breathwork, asana, meditation and affirmations to reshape the mind and body.
